Obama again

"The american way of life is not negotionable." George Bush, Rio de Janeiro, 1992.

"America has made our choice. We have charted our course, we have made our commitments, and we will do what we say.", Barack Obama, Copenhagen, 2009.

Our one and only hope, Mr President of the world, Barack Obama, is too tied up with domestic politics to be able to give us what we need: global leadership. Hence, bye bye climate agreeement...

Here, quietly

Far from the chaos and crowding in Copenhagen, I'm sitting in my quiet office in Stockholm. Calmly, I wonder what the way forward is, more struggle or less? Will the new vision for this burning world really appear in the stress and late night negotiations in the overcrowded centers? Perhaps real change is more confusing, yet more personal and basic, than that. Is there anyone meditating in Copenhagen? Anyone in touch with something more silent and humble? What would happen if a voice like that appeared?

Anyhow, as the struggle continues and king Obama arrives the poor nations will surely bulge and give into a deal that will cut them short of growth in order for "the world to survive". Speaking of voices, is the silence I'm hearing the one coming from Left?
